The information currently been promoted in Ireland that there were no closures, no reduction in staffed hours and no job losses associated with the Denmark model of staffless /My Open libraries is false and misleading. As with the LGMA pilot report it is impossible to make an informed decision based on false and misleading information. In ‘Opportunities for All’, under the 7 programmes of activity, there were 43 strategic aims and 68 recommended actions in total. Not one of these mentions staffless libraries. To utilise ‘Opportunities for All’ as a basis for introducing staffless libraries is disingenuous to those focus groups that were consulted.
